With the release of Rock Band Network, we have been working to make some of our songs available in the game! If we have any luck, the songs will pass… *shudder*… peer review. When that happens, the songs will be up for download in the Xbox Live Rock Band Network store!
So, just letting you guys know that we’re working on that. More details will come later.
Holy crap, MarsCon is 2 months away and I haven’t said a word about it! I need to start doing that!!
Okay, so what is MarsCon you ask? Well even if you didn’t ask, I’ll tell you. It’s a sci-fi convention in Bloomington, MN. And they have a huge comedy music track, and my band (Nuclear Bubble Wrap) will be performing! Yay!!!
The con lasts from March 5th through the 7th. Our regular show is on Saturday the 6th (I believe we go on at 2:00 PM), although we will also make appearances on Friday and Sunday, doing “special” songs.

Artists performing besides us include: The Nick Atoms, Throwing Toasters, Schaffer the Darklord, Steve Goodie, Insane Ian, Dino-Mike, Odd Austin, Rob Balder, Worm Quartet, The Gothsicles, Power Salad, Carrie Dahlby, Hot Waffles, Raymond & Scum, Devo Spice, and the great Luke Ski! Whew!
Oh, I should also mention there’s a fundraiser CD that, if the goal is met, will pay for our hotel rooms. You don’t want us to have to sleep on the street, right? You can get those here.
They’re pretty nifty and contain live recordings from last year’s concerts.

Since we know a lot of people love the song, “Birdfucker”–of which our version is a cover of a Grapes and Sunshine song, we thought we’d inform you that it is now available on iTunes! It’s on the FuMP Volume 17 compilation album (which contains all the songs posted to The FuMP during September and October 2009). You can get the song by using this direct iTunes link to the album.

We just recorded a parody of “Dear Prudence” by The Beatles about nudists. It was really hard to do but we’re very happy with it. Sweet. Two Beatles songs down, a bunch to go! We’re making an entire album of Beatles parodies, which will come out after “Exploding Head Syndrome.” But we want to have a few songs already in the can.
In other news, we added ScientLOLojyuuichi (Tom Cruise vs. The Internet) to our YouTube channel. Yeah, we know it’s a two year old video, but we wanted it up there so all our videos could be accessible on that channel.
In NEW video news, we are making a LIVE ACTION music video of our Green Day parody, “Know Your Power Chords.” If all goes as planned, it will be out sometime in January. We’re all really excited about it, mainly because we get to dress up like Green Day. Oh boy!

Spooky anonymous person asks: are you planning on re-recording any of your older songs? Like you did for Convention?
Probably not. We did “The Environment” and “Convention” mainly to practice using and getting used to the recording studio. I’ve thought about redoing “ScientLOLojyuuichi” before, but perhaps that piece of history should be left untouched.
Matthew asks: OMG!!! You guys are doing a concert in Febuary in Blommington MN!!!! I live RIGHT by Bloomington!!! But… where in Bloomington???

You may have noticed we’ve created a whole new channel for NBW videos, as having videos under the weirdojace screen name isn’t very practical. So if you like, subscribe to the new channel as well.
The brilliant animator Andrew Kepple (Too Much Spare Time) has created a wonderful music video to our song and ode to Dumbledore, “Draining the Lizard on a Dead Gay Wizard!” And he did an outstanding job. This is a video you’ll want to watch over and over to find all the hidden jokes and things!

We have a new song from our upcoming album available! It’s called “Lesbian.” Check it out. We tried to make it sound Beatlesy but I don’t know if we succeeded in that. Also, thanks to Nashville singer-songwriter superstar Johnna Day for doing backup vocals on this one!
The new album is coming swimmingly, by the way. Just a few more songs and we’ll be good to go! Maybe we can get it out by February 2010… oh that would be swell.
From now on, we’re going to post every new song as a free download for a limited time. Right now we’re working on a new album called “Exploding Head Syndrome” and so, here’s every song we’ve recorded so far for it (excluding “Draining the Lizard” for certain reasons…)

Whoo! Another fun weekend at the studio happened! We’re super excited because we finished two awesome songs called “Captain Abduction” and “In Space No One Can Hear You Scream” (the former of which will be posted to The FuMP in November). The latter is a bit of a different song for us, as it’s not really a comedy song at all. But we hope you like it anyway.
We also started on some new stuff which you should hear soon, including a Green Day parody and yet another Beatles parody. And a cheesy love song that uses Pokémon names called “Raichu a Song.” Fingers crossed, they’ll be finished by the end of November.
Also, we’re happy to announce that Eric Zhu is back with us and is playing drums. In fact, he played drums on all the new songs we worked on this weekend. Ahhh, it’s great to finally have a drummer again. There’s some more exciting stuff underway but I’ll elaborate on that later…
